A&H Farms to expand and improve attractions after receiving TravelKS Grant
MANHATTAN (KSNT) - A&H Farms in Manhattan is receiving an Attraction Development Grant Award from Kansas Tourism.
Thursday, May 23, A&H Farms was presented with a check to improve its facilities. Bridgette Jobe, director of Kansas Tourism told 27 News A&H Farms stood out from their competition with their different ways of educating.
"And what stood out for us with their application is that they are enhancing some of their exhibits and their educational opportunities,” Jobe said.
This year the famed farmers market is receiving more than $20,000 from TravelKS. The grant will cover 60% of expenses, while the farm will pay 40%. This will be used to build new petting zoo enclosures, a petting zoo education barn, an enhanced goat enclosure and signs for that petting zoo education.
"Having these funds to help with that is going to make it great,”Andrea DeJesus, the owner of A&H Farms said, “So, we don't have to pick and choose between do I put a new slide in or do I put educational material up."
