AUSTIN (KXAN) —What are your thoughts about Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Will it help? Or will it cause harm?
As AI continues to become a part of many peoples lives, discussions on how to manage this technology is ongoing.
KXAN asked South by Southwest participants how they felt about AI.
"There are positives and negatives," said Vincent Guerrero who was in town for SXSW.
There have been concerns over deep fakes and people's identities being stolen.
Fake AI generated nude photo's of Taylor Swift recently spread across the Internet leading lawmakers in Washington to draft the No Artificial Intelligence Fake Replicas And Unauthorized Duplications Act on Jan. 10.
If passed, the bill will punish bad actors using generative AI to harm people.
There are also concerns about AI taking jobs from human workers.
"I have been looking for reports of, is AI going to take my job," said Nisarga Godekar, who was attending SXSW.
Godekar said she is not that concerned about AI pushing her out, she looks at it more of a tool to help humans.
"There are a lot of things humans can do much better than AI, but there are a few things we may fall short of and AI can really help us," Godekar said.
"A lot of people are afraid of old things going out and new things coming in," said Vincent Guerrero. "I think it is great, I think there is always going to be new innovation."
