Whatever you do, don't do this to your iPhone
Of the many wild and wonderful things you might do today I’ll bet that setting the date of any of your iOS devices to January 1, 1970, isn’t one of them ... which is just as well because, should you do such a thing, your sleek, high-tech gadget will become a sleek, low-tech brick.
Yep, that’s right, a bug in iOS 8 or 9 turns iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touch with 64-bit processors into expensive paper weights when that date is entered. Apparently (because I haven’t tried it and don’t intend to) the devices get stuck in a loop when the reboot and - and here’s the amazing thing - there is no way to un-brick the device.
