SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Schenectady County has released a request for proposals to complete a building assessment of the miSci museum building. The request for proposals (RFP) will provide comprehensive reviews of the building's condition, serving as the next step in support of miSci.
Both interior and exterior would be reviewed for structural enhancements along with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Engineers will issue a report after completing the assessment that details any issues and then recommend how to repair them.
Development and funding for the proposals were agreed upon by Schenectady County to license professional engineers, gauge the state of the museum building, and find cost-effective ways to make improvements. It also will protect the collections and archives already located in the building.
