TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Brooklyn man has been convicted for his role in the 2022 death of 16-year-old Anthony Christopher of Troy, according to the Rensselaer County District Attorney's Office. Khalil Clay, 21, was found guilty of second-degree murder following a jury trial.
Clay, alongside Ramel Gulley and William Webb, were found guilty of forcing their way into Christopher’s home and shooting him multiple times in the torso and once in the head on January 5, 2022. The three men were arrested in May of 2022. Gulley and Webb were convicted back in March.
"Again, I must thank the Troy Police and the FBI Capital District’s Safe Streets Gang Task force members, along with New York City Brooklyn North Violent Crime Squad, who worked tirelessly to develop search warrants and track these individuals which led to their apprehension by the U.S. Marshalls NY/NJ Regional Task Force," said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly. "ADA Feenan and ADA Lane were committed to justice in this case and I am hopeful that this verdict will bring a sense of closure for Anthony Christopher’s family."
Clay now faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison. His sentencing is scheduled for May 17.
