Capital Cup for Kids raising money for local charities
Over 350 local adult hockey players will compete for the 2024 Capital Cup championship on Saturday while raising money for local children's charities in the Capital Region. The fundraiser will be at the Albany County Hockey Facility, 18 Hockey Lane in Colonie, with games from 8 to 9 a.m., family day activities from noon to 4 p.m., and a Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 12:45 p.m.
COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Over 350 local adult hockey players will compete for the 2024 Capital Cup championship on Saturday while raising money for local children's charities in the Capital Region. The fundraiser will be at the Albany County Hockey Facility, 18 Hockey Lane in Colonie, with games from 8 to 9 a.m., family day activities from noon to 4 p.m., and a Hall of Fame induction ceremony at 12:45 p.m.
Over 700 players, fans, and families will be in attendance for the fundraiser. Honorary captains whose families are receiving or have received support from Building on Love, Inc., Ronald McDonald House, or Make-A-Wish Northeastern NY will be in attendance before and after games.
In 2023, the tournament raised over $230K, bringing the total amount raised to over $1.3M since the event's inception in 2009. 100% of the proceeds stay local to help sick children and their families.
