UAlbany men's lax chasing top seed in America East tournament

ALBANY, NY (NEWS10) -- The UAlbany Men's lacrosse team clinched a spot in the America East tournament after defeating Merrimack 14-8. This week they have a shot to win the top seed in the conference tournament, the regular season title, and have home-field advantage. They'll have to get through Binghamton to make that goal a reality.
The Great Danes haven't had home-field advantage in the tournament since the 2018 season. It's been a consistent goal for them throughout the season and it's within reach for veteran players like senior Jake Piseno.
"Obviously that's our first goal. That's our first goal of every season is to get that outright conference championship and have our tournament here, so it will mean a lot," Piseno said. "It will mean a lot to me just because I've been here for five years and I haven't had it once, so it's definitely up there in my goals."
While the goal is clear for UAlbany, head coach Scott Marr believes they can't get comfortable and take this game lightly.
"This is the only thing we've been thinking about as far as processing what we have to do Saturday night, to secure that win and take the home-field advantage," Marr said.
Game time against the Bearcats is Saturday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
