Gloversville man sentenced for child sexual conduct
A Fulton County judge sentenced a Gloversville man charged with first-degree sexual conduct against a child to prison on Thursday.
JOHNSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Fulton County judge sentenced a Gloversville man charged with first-degree sexual conduct against a child to prison on Thursday. Terry Nellis, 35, was sentenced to 16 years and prison and 10 years of probation, he also has to register as a sex offender when he is released.
The Fulton County District Attorney's Office thanked the survivors for their courage and bravery in coming forward. The DA's office also thanked law enforcement for the several hours spent investigating to remove a violent predator from the community, holding him accountable for his actions.
Gloversville Police Department, New York State Police Forensic Investigation Center, and Fulton County Child Advocacy Center were thanked for their assistance in the investigation. The DA's office said sexual violence against children is barbaric, and Nellis' conviction is an example of their commitment to justice being served for survivors of sexual violence.
