Kristina Tsvetanova has won an award for creating the world's first tablet for blind and visually impaired people, the European Commission says.

Hundreds of elderly people have gathered in front of the Presidency of Bulgaria, calling for a steep increase in retirement pensions over the next few years.

Bulgarian MEP Peter Kouroumbashev and French Ambassador Eric Lebédel traded remarks on Twitter on Wednesday evening after the latter referred to an interview of the MEP as an "illustration of the "whining periphery syndrome"."

His comment regarded the words of Kouroumbashev who in an interview compared the model of a two-speed EU to apartheid, arguing such projects would end up destroying the union.

Freedom of movement is the most essential right enjoyed within the EU, according to a vast majority of Bulgarians, a survey finds.

The Eurobarometer poll shows some 87% of Bulgarians approve the policy.

Following are common security (72%) and migration (68%) policies.

Some 81% of all EU members' citizens, and at least two-thirds of the population of each member, share the same view.

Turkey urged Bulgaria on March 09, not to restrict political rights of minorities and to comply with the “rule-based” European system, in reference to a recent law legislated by the Bulgarian parliament that restricts the number of ballot boxes to be established in Turkey to 35, according to Hürriyet Daily News.

Bulgaria is to participate at the world’s leading travel trade show ITB Berlin. The country’s national pavilion is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and will cover an area of 400 sq.m.

ITB Berlin is held between March, 08 and March 12, 2017.

Two war grenades and other explosive devices have been found in out of the old buildings of Alexandrovska hospital, not far from the center of Sofia, media report.

The area has been sealed off by police, the Bulgarian National Radio reports.

There are no Bulgarian members of the European Parliament in Politico's ranking of 40 MEPs who matter in 2017 - a list where more than half are newcomers.

Bulgaria is thus one of the fifteen countries that have no members in the list.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit Russia and meet his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on March, 10, the presidency announced in a statement Tuesday, according to Anadolu Agency.

The sixth High-Level Cooperation Council meeting in Moscow will be attended by Erdogan and Putin, and include government ministers from both sides.

The two leaders will exchange views on regional and international issues, particularly Syrian issue, said the statement.
