The government has granted BGN 1 612 510 for the opening of an embassy in Bulgaria in Riyadh, the press service of the Cabinet announced.

(RTTNews) - Bulgaria's industrial production increased for the second straight month in June, while retail sales growth eased slightly, preliminary figures from the National Statistical Institute showed Wednesday.

Czech energy company CEZ has filed an administrative claim against the Bulgarian competition watchdog, CPC, over a ban on selling its assets in Bulgaria to the local firm Inercom Group, Investor.bg reported on August 7.

Sofia police officers have discovered a large amount of drugs in a dwelling in Druzhba, the press center of the Ministry of Interior reports.
 
On Monday, criminalists have found nearly 10kg of drugs: multiple envelopes with lumps of white powder and weed, three scales, a presser, various types of acids, and multiple packing bags. The result of the expertise has shown that the seized substances are 9828 g of amphetamine, 33.66 g of weedand 0.93 g of cocaine.

Sofia. The average insurable income in Bulgaria in June 2018 was BGN 875, said the press office of the National Social Security Institute. The average monthly insurable income for the country for the period from 01.07.2017 to 30.06.2018 was BGN 855.83.
The average monthly insurable income for the said period is used for calculating the amounts of new pensions in July 2018, pursuant to Art. 70 (2) of the Social Insurance Code.

Protest of the Meteorologists of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. By letter to Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, meteorologists insist that the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology be moved away from the BAS and passed under the Ministry of Education's hat as an independent scientific organization. They also state that they have stopped implementing any dispositions and decisions of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The most extensive teaching of Land Forces in Bulgaria in 2018 is held in Novo Selo. Sofia. On 8 August, with the high temperatures expected, the Sofia Municipality will hand out mineral water from 01:30 pm, said the municipality press office. The water is provided by Devin AD and will be handed out by municipal employees while there is some available.

Vratsa. On August 7, the police in Byala Slatina seized 10,980 cigarettes without excise label from a house in the area of the Altimir village, the Interior Ministry’s regional department in Vratsa said. The house has been used by a resident of Bukovlak, Pleven region. Speedy prosecution has been initiated.
