Bulgaria’s Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva will visit Brussels on August 10 to meet with EU Commissioner for Health & Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis, reports BNT. 

Owners of domestic pigs from the region of Parvomai will stage another protest against the order for the compulsory culling of “back yard” pigs as a step against the African Swine Fever outbreaks in the country. They plan to close the traffic on Haskovo-Svilengrad-Istanbul international road, reports BNT. 

Bulgaria will receive € 2.9 million in financial assistance from the European Union to fight African Swine Fever. This became clear after a meeting between Bulgaria’s Minister of Agriculture Dessislava Taneva and EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis on August 6, reports BNT. 

The director of NRA-Lovech Viktor Stoychev has been fired. The Revenue Agency press office said on August 6 that the dismissal was because of unauthorized access to the NRA information systems, reports BNT.

The traffic at all checkpoints at Bulgarian-Serbian border is heavy at 01:30 pm, said the Border Police. The traffic of exiting trucks at the border with Romania is also heavy. At the borders with Northern Macedonia, Turkey, and Greece, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.

The police have cordoned off an area in Lozenets, following a report of an object that resembled an artillery shell, Sofia Police Directorate told Focus News Agency.
The report was received before 8:00 AM this morning. The object was found during cleaning out of a basement. The area has been cordoned off from public access for security reasons. An investigation is underway. 

Sofia Police Department has busted a marijuana greenhouse with state-of-the-art equipment, the Regional Directorate reported.
The modern greenhouse was discovered during a special police operation conducted by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Sofia and the Svoge Police Department.
