Belgrade Outlet Attacks Radev, Claims Bulgaria Repeatedly Blocked Serbia’s Road to the EU
A pro-government publication in Serbia has sharply criticized Bulgaria’s incoming Prime Minister Rumen Radev, accusing him of repeatedly obstructing Serbia’s path toward European Union membership and raising questions over whether his future government will continue that approach, BGNES reports.
The article, published in a media outlet close to the authorities in Belgrade under the headline “Five Bulgarian stabs in our back in less than 10 years,” argues that Sofia has blocked Serbia’s European integration on multiple occasions and claims Bulgaria uses the issue of the Bulgarian minority in Serbia as a political instrument.
At the center of the criticism is the question of whether Radev, after moving from the presidency to the premiership, will continue what the Serbian publication describes as a pattern of pressure against Belgrade.
