The Ottawa Senators stopped the slide on Sunday night. And it couldn’t have come soon enough.

Ottawa police said the westbound lanes of Carling Avenue were closedat Kirkwood Avenue on Sunday night after a car overturned at around 9:21 p.m. Police said Ottawa Fire was on the scene. The sole occupant of the vehicle was uninjured.  It was not immediately known how long the westbound lanes would be closed.

The NHL is a what-have-you-done-lately kind of place. Given what the Senators have done in the recent past, there was no denying the fact the Ottawa Senators had to have Sunday's game against the visiting Edmonton Oilers.
