'Rookie mistake' omitted opinions from Ottawa-Vanier town hall on electoral reform
The 150 constituents of Ottawa-Vanier who showed up to a September town hall to share their opinions on electoral reform may well be wondering if their voices were heard at all.
Liberal party Whip and Orleans MP Andrew Leslie said he made “a rookie mistake” when the official report submitted to the Commons Special Committee on Electoral Reform (ERRE) neglected to include any of the opinions shared by those who actually attended the town hall – which was the stated intention of the exhaustive cross-country consultation.
