Mississippi school district's leader retiring this month
BALDWYN, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi school district soon will be looking for a new superintendent.
Baldwyn Schools Superintendent Jason McKay is retiring effective June 30.
In a May 28 letter, McKay informed the school board of his decision to step down, WTVA-TV reported.
“It has been and always will be a blessing to be a Baldwyn Bearcat,” he wrote. “I would like to thank the students, faculty, school board members, and community for their unwavering support over the past several years. I will forever be a Baldwyn Bearcat.”
McKay said retiring at this time allows him to look to new challenges in the future.
McKay has held the post since 2014.
Baldwyn is a city in Lee and Prentiss Counties located about 17 miles north of Tupelo.
