[Track & Field] Bears Split and Compete at Different Meets This Weekend
Bears split up this weekend to compete at Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State and at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Invitational hosted by Cedarville University. Two Bears competed in the 5000m at Raleigh Relays. Cody Booth (SR) had the performance of the weekend hitting the NAIA B standard for Nationals in the 5000m race. Booth ran a time of 14:48.97 and finished in 171st place in a stacked NCAA Division I field. Following Booth, Hunter Hoover (SR/Waverly, OH) finished in 173rd place and ran the 5000m in a time of 14:50.04, narrowly missing the B standard. At the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Invitational, the men and women powered through the windy conditions to post some great times. On the men's side, in the 5000m race, Alex Morris (SO/Wheelersburg, Ohio) finished in 8th place with a time of 15:41.29. Following Morris, Malachi Shugert (SO/Rossford, Ohio) finished in 28th place with a time of 16:32.26 and Jared Flowers (FR) finished in 52nd place with a time of 18:53.56. in the 800m race, Dylan French (SO/Coal Grove, OH) finished in 24th place with a time of 2:07.17. Following French, Jack Monroe (FR) finished in 52nd place (2:19.56) and Jacob Beyer (SR/Cincinnati, Ohio) finished in 64th place (2:25.61). Dylan French (19th, 4:25.14), Philip Evory (SO/Waverly, Ohio) (36th, 4:32.93), Matthew Rauch (SO/Vincent, Ohio) (64th, 4:46.07), and Jack Monroe (78th, 4:55.21) also competed in the 1500m race.
