Emily Blunt Explains Why Husband John Krasinski Left Her Alone At The 2026 Met Gala: 'He Was Going To Come'
At the 2026 Met Gala, Emily Blunt tagged along with her sister, Felicity Blunt, and brother-in-law, Stanley Tucci, who is also her The Devil Wears Prada 2 co-star, after husband John Krasinski pulled out of the event at the last second.
“John Krasinski was going to come, of course,” Blunt told Vanity Fair of her actor-director husband, “but he’s about six days away from shooting his movie. He’s a very busy bee right now.”
Krasinski is typically Blunt’s date on the red carpet, and even joined her at the Lucille Lortel Awards in New York City the night before the Met Gala, but Blunt had other people to keep her company on May 4.
“We’re going to be rocking up in a very brightly lit sprinter van, looking like we should be on a bachelorette night,” Blunt said of arriving at the fashion event with her older sister and Tucci. “We’re also going to pick up Dwayne Johnson and his wife, Lauren [Hashian]. So we’ll be a full party bus going there…. Definitely music, definitely tequila. That usually helps calm the nerves.”
Blunt and Krasinski have been married since 2010 and share daughters Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9. However, the A Quiet Place co-stars weathered breakup rumors earlier this year.
“Things are nowhere near as perfect as they look from a distance,” a source told Heat World UK in January. “They present as this rock-solid, blissfully united couple, but behind the façade, things are a lot more fraught.” The insiders alleged, “Everyone who knows them sees how different their approach to their work is. Eventually, it’s going to reach breaking point.”
That said, the pair have looked united in recent months. Krasinski showed up to support Blunt and Tucci and their Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on April 30, where the Oscar nominee shouted him out in her speech calling him her “beautiful husband” who has “just made life heaven.”
