Gleneagles Country Club hosts Play It Forward charity pickleball event
Gleneagles Country Club in Delray Beach hosted the finals of three divisions of the Play It Forward Pickleball League finals on April 8.
The Delray Beach-based Play It Forward Pickleball League is gender-specific, with more than 700 players participating in the 55-and-over Spring league.
This year, the league awarded checks to The Lustgarten Foundation For Pancreatic Cancer Research, Sun Safe Melanoma, Ovarian Cancer Palm Beach County and the Palm Beach County Food Pantry. Each charity received $4,500 in the winning team’s name in each division.
The Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research holds special meaning for the Gleneagles family members Mark and Paula Goldberg, whose son died from pancreatic cancer. Many Gleneagles members came out to witness the finals, including the Goldbergs, their daughter-in-law and granddaughters. They received a $4,500 check following the Division 1 team final.
“We were honored to host the Play It Forward charity event and contribute to such a worthy cause,” said Mike Puc, director of tennis & pickleball at Gleneagles Country Club. “This event embodies the spirit of giving back and supporting our community, and we are proud to be a part of it.”
