Gunzburg assessed the possibility of continuing trials of the AstraZeneca vaccine
Director of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamaleya Alexander Gintsburg told RIA Novosti that the company AstraZeneca, which has developed a vaccine against coronavirus, must have evidence that there is no connection between human death and the introduction of the drug if it decided to continue testing.
So he commented on the death of a Brazilian citizen who took part in the AstraZeneca vaccine trials.
“If there is no causal relationship, and this is confirmed by some community of doctors who have the right to confirm this within the framework of the protocol of these studies, then, of course, we must continue [testing],” said Gunzburg.
If there is any doubt that the death of the Brazilian is not related to the vaccine, the trials should be stopped, he added.
