Sobyanin’s advisor disclosed to Muscovites the timing of mass vaccination against COVID-19
Advisor to the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin, Dean of the Faculty of Management in Medicine and Healthcare of the RANEPA Leonid Pechatnikov revealed to Muscovites the timing of mass vaccination against COVID-19. He announced this on the air of the Dozhd TV channel.
According to him, mass vaccination may begin after the New Year.
“Moscow is ready – there are refrigerators, freezers, everything you need in the offices. Sobyanin said that there are about 300 such rooms [for vaccinations], but in my opinion there are already more – there are several in each polyclinic. Everything is behind industrial production, “Pechatnikov explained.
The deputy mayor also expressed the hope that the epidemic will end by the end of 2021. “There is hope that he [coronavirus], as such aggressive and virulent, is short-lived in the human population. I hope that by the end of next year we will finish with the pandemic … there will be episodes of epidemic outbreaks, ”Pechatnikov expressed hope.
On November 26, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that almost half of Muscovites are immune to the coronavirus. The body’s resistance to COVID-19 is expressed in cellular immunity and antibodies.
Earlier, Ancha Baranova, professor at the School of Systems Biology at George Mason University, said that the main drawback of coronavirus vaccines, which are currently in clinical trials in different countries of the world, is the need to inject twice. If people only get the first shot and not the second, the impact of mass vaccination campaigns will be diminished, she said.
