Banks asked the Federal Tax Service to postpone the entry into force of new rules on deposits
Banks are asking the Federal Tax Service (FTS) to postpone the entry into force of new rules for informing about accounts, deposits and electronic means of payment until May 2021, Prime reports. They argue the request with a difficult situation due to the coronavirus pandemic, follows from the appeal of the Association of Russian Banks (ARB) addressed to the head of the service, Daniil Yegorov.
The letter says that bank employees cannot quickly carry out the necessary work to fulfill the requirements of the Federal Tax Service “due to temporary disability during a pandemic, the need to comply with the self-isolation and quarantine regime and take care of family members who are sick with COVID-19.” The association indicated that due to non-compliance with the new rules, banks face serious risks, including the inability to open new accounts, loss of customers and heavy fines.
In May, the FTS approved new rules for electronic reporting by banks of data on accounts, deposits and electronic means of payment. The order comes into force in January 2021.
About the results of the first months of work of Daniil Yegorov as head of the Federal Tax Service – in his interview to Kommersant “The order of the numbers is correct, these are trillions.”
