Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced the holding of the G20 Summit 2021 in Rome. It will take place on October 30–31. The prime minister said that the main topics will be “persons, planet, prosperity”.
“The final summit of leaders will take place on October 30–31, here in Rome, the eternal city, the capital of Italy, where we will summarize the results . We are called upon to respond to the global challenges that await us and build the world of tomorrow today in order to put a better planet in the hands of our children, ”said Mr Conte in a video message. On December 1, Italy took over the chairmanship of the G20.
In 2020, the G20 summit was held in video format under the chairmanship of Saudi Arabia. The G20 countries have pledged to work to provide the entire planet with vaccines against the coronavirus COVID-19 and to create a balanced “post-like” world order. Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the summit that the pandemic launched a systemic economic crisis, which has not been seen in the world since the Great Depression.
