France is putting together a Group of Seven Nations (G7) task force to explore how central banks can make sure cryptocurrencies adhere to money-laundering and consumer protection rules. That’s according to the country’s central bank governor who announced the news today. The announcement comes days after Facebook announced the launch of its upcoming digital currency, Libra. Mozilla has patched its Firefox browser for a second time in response to a spearphishing campaign targeting employees of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, ZDNet reports. According to ZDNet, hackers have been attempting to phish Coinbase staff with emails containing links to malicious websites. If links were clicked when using Firefox, it would automatically download and run malware on the system, stealing browser passwords and other sensitive data. A few months ago, Taotronics’ latest noise-cancelling headphones landed on my doormat, and to my shame, they’ve since languished on my “to-do” list of product reviews. I say shame, because they’re actually really good – both in terms of performance, as well as overall value. And now you can get a pair for just $40, down from the usually retail price of $70. Many of us rely on Google Maps to find electricians, hair salon, and other services in our area.  Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported that Google Maps hosts an estimated ’11 million falsely listed businesses on any given day.’  The majority of the bogus listings are found in categories that Google calls ‘duress verticals’ – electricians, plumbers, and towing and car repair services.  The WSJ noted that scammers often hijack the names of legit businesses through these listings, carry out shoddy jobs, and demand exorbitant fees. Computing giant Dell released a security advisory on Thursday urging consumers to update their laptops and PCs to patch a security vulnerability the company says could have enabled hackers to access sensitive information. The vulnerability, CVE-2019-12280, was identified in Dell’s SupportAssist application for business (version 2.0) and home PCs (version 3.2.1 and prior). We’re all used to our console controllers vibrating during intense gaming sequences. Some movie theaters incorporate vibration motors into their chairs for a more immersive experience. Now, a new Netflix experiment considers combining the two ideas, essentially adding haptic feedback to movies and TV shows you watch on your phone.
