Xbox revealed at today’s X019 show that it was adding several new games to the library of Game Pass — including at least one series that’d previously been PlayStation-exclusive. Game Pass is perhaps Microsoft’s biggest weapon in the ongoing arms race against the other consoles. Global food giant Nestlé has teamed up with French supermarket chain Carrefour to put baby milk formula on the blockchain. Using IBM‘s food-tracking blockchain software IBM Food Trust, the two firms will provide customers with transparent information for the GUIGOZ Bio 2 and 3 infant milk ranges, “from dairy to shelf.” IBM Food Trust is based on the Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Fabric software. TikTok, the short-video making app, has crossed the 1.5 billion downloads mark from the Play Store and the App Store combined. According to a report published by analytics firm SensorTower, the ByteDance almost third of them (468 million) coming from India. GitHub has officially launched a new Security Lab with an aim to secure open-source software. The objective is to “bring together security researchers, maintainers, and companies across the industry who share our belief that the security of open source is important for everyone,” the Microsoft-owned code repository platform said. In Septemeber, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) tried to be a part of history by attempting a soft landing on the moon with Chandrayaan-2. Sadly, before the Vikram lander reached the lunar surface, the team lost communication with it. Later, the lander was located, but scientists were not able to establish any contact with it. Facebook is trying to really hard to tell people it owns Instagram and WhatsApp. Earlier this month, the company introduced new branding for all of its apps. On Wednesday, it introduced Facebook Pay, a service that’ll work across all apps. Now, it’s testing an Instagram feed-like feature in its main app. A report by TechCrunch suggests the social network tested a feature called ‘Popular Photos’ in its app last month. YouTube just changed a major rule for anyone who uploads videos, ostensibly to protect kids — but now content creators are confused as to how to follow it. Starting next year, all YouTube content creators will have to tick a box when they upload a video, indicating whether or not said video is “kid-directed.” Creators will also have to categorize each of their previously uploaded videos and even their entire channels the same way. Instagram today announced it’s expanding its test of hidden likes to users around the world. This means that a significantly higher number of people will be logging into Instagram today and seeing their friends’ posts sans numbers. The test was run in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and New Zealand earlier this year.
