Chris Christie is headed back to New Jersey for the snowstorm after all. "I'm sorry NH, I gotta go home. We got snow coming," Christie tweeted Friday afternoon, cutting short a New Hampshire campaign trip that was supposed to end Monday.

A Republican lawmaker in Olympia, Washington, shocked a group of teenage girls lobbying for Planned Parenthood by asking them whether they were virgins. State Rep. Mary Dye, who is opposed to giving teens access to birth control, admitted that her "well-intended" comments about sex may have been too "motherly." Former Ben Carson campaign manager and longtime Republican strategist Barry Bennett has jumped ship to Donald Trump's presidential campaign, The Washington Post reports. Both Bennett and Trump's campaign manager have confirmed that Bennett is now serving as an informal and unpaid adviser to Trump's campaign. Bennett's role is "one of counselor and resource to Trump's top aides as they begin to prepare for a possible general-election campaign," The Post reports.

Warmbier was reportedly arrested Jan. 2 at Pyongyang airport as he prepared to depart from a five-day trip to North Korea over New Years Eve, just four days before North Korea carried out its nuclear test.

Five of the 10 former U.S. diplomats who signed Hillary Clinton's letter questioning opponent Bernie Sanders' foreign policy chops have ties to the military contracting establishment, posing a potential conflict of interest. Military contractors have reaped the benefits of increasing violence worldwide and particularly in the Middle East, as increased security threats have boosted defense spending.

A powerful snowstorm is due to hit the East Coast with up to two feet of snow starting Friday. Almost 5,000 flights have been canceled for Friday and Saturday. Baltimore and Washington, D.C., are expected to get some of the worst of it, with a rare blizzard warning taking effect on Friday afternoon. As many as 75 million people could be affected by the snowfall.
