Nyquist's trainer isn't worried about rain at the Preakness Stakes

Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist is the 3-5 favorite to win Saturday's Preakness Stakes in Baltimore. The undefeated bay colt will likely see a rainy track, which could give competitors skilled at running through mud, like Exaggerator and Cherry Wine, a huge advantage. But trainer Doug O'Neill isn't worried, The Associated Press reports.

"With a horse like Nyquist, I'm not overly concerned about the weather," he said Friday. "As far as rain or shine, we're not going to change anything shoeing-wise. He's going to wear the same shoes he's got on. We'd just love to have a beautiful day."

Beautiful racing conditions aren't likely, but if Nyquist can pull out a win, he'll have a go at the Triple Crown at the June 11 Belmont Stakes.
