Obama cracks himself up talking about Trump in teased Jimmy Fallon interview
President Obama is champing at the bit to get out and campaign for the Democratic nominee, as is abundantly clear in his new appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. "The role I'm going to be playing in this process is to remind the American people that this is a serious job. This is not reality TV," Obama said.
But Obama's signature dry wit was also on display as he quipped that while Republicans might not be so thrilled about their presidential nominee, "we are."
Despite Obama cracking himself up with that one, in the end he was much more solemn about what Donald Trump means for Democrats. Even liberals "want the Republican nominee to be somebody who could do the job if they win," Obama said. "And you want folks who understand the issues."
The episode will air in full tonight, but watch a teaser below via CNN.
