US Hospital Pharmacists Ration Drugs as Shortages Persist, Survey Shows

Nearly a third of U.S. hospital pharmacists say they were forced to ration, delay or cancel treatments as drug shortages in the United States approach an all-time high, according to a survey released Thursday.   The shortages are especially critical for chemotherapy drugs used in cancer treatment regimens, with more than half of the 1,123 pharmacists surveyed saying they had to limit the use of such treatments.   The survey was conducted June 23-July 14 by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP)... A journalist who reports on disinformation for the British broadcaster BBC has spoken out about the level of online harassment she endures over her work. Marianna Spring, who hosts the podcast “Marianna in Conspiracyland,” said that 80% of the online hate directed at BBC journalists targets her specifically. Iran Transfers Four American Prisoners to House Arrest

Iran is transferring four American prisoners to house arrest, an American lawyer said Thursday, in a development that comes as Tehran for months has indicated it is open to a prisoner swap with Washington.  The prisoners are being moved from Tehran’s notorious Evin Prison to house arrest at an undisclosed hotel where they will be held under guard by Iranian officials, human rights lawyer Jared Genser said in a statement Thursday.  Genser identified three of the prisoners as Siamak Namazi, Emad Shargi, and Morad Tahbaz. Malawi is seeking donations to feed more than 50,000 refugees facing shortages at the country's only refugee camp. Government officials said the camp's food stock is expected to be depleted by December. The appeal comes after the World Food Program last month cut by half the food rations for the refugees because of funding problems.  The refugees at the Dzaleka refugee camp said the food shortage has become worse largely because of the ongoing forcible relocation of refugees, who are staying outside of the camp. At least eight people have been killed and six others injured in two separate explosions in Somalia, residents say. At least five people were killed, and four others were injured in the town of Jalalaqsi in the Hiran region after a suicide bomber detonated an explosive vest at a public place.
