Sooners Rally to Beat Kansas, Advance to Semifinals
Oklahoma's baseball team rallied from an early deficit to take the lead in the fourth inning and go on to beat Kansas 7-5 in the Big 12 Tournament at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday.
OU scored three runs in the fourth inning to take the lead, getting an RBI single from Scott Mudler and a two-run home run from Jaxon Willits.
The Sooners added two more runs in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Michael Snyder and an RBI triple by Jackson Nicklaus.
Oklahoma scored first in the bottom of the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Easton Carmichael.
Kansas answered with three runs in the top of the second inning.
OU responded with a Mudler RBI single to cut the Jayhawks' lead to 3-2.
Carter Campbell got the pitching win with three innings of middle relief, not giving up a hit to KU.
Malachi Witherspoon came on in the ninth inning to get the save.
Oklahoma advances to the semifinals Friday at 12:30 to play the winner of Friday's 9:00 am game between TCU and Kansas.
