Colin Kaepernick settles collusion lawsuit with the NFL
Lawyers for football player Colin Kaepernick said on Friday that he and the NFL "have decided to resolve the pending grievances" and that the settlement is confidential. It was a surprise announcement that implies a significant financial offer from the NFL. Kaepernick, a former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, accused NFL owners of collusion when he wasn't signed by any teams for a significant amount of time, saying it was in retaliation for his kneeling during the National Anthem before some games. Kaepernick told media at the time: "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."
