Oregon City High School lifts lockout after police search for suspicious person with rifle
An Oregon City school has lifted a lockout after investigators found no evidence of a suspicious person carrying a rifle in the vicinity of the school.
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – An Oregon City school has lifted a lockout that was put in place early Friday morning while investigators looked into reports of a suspicious person nearby.
Oregon City Police say they received “second-hand information” of a person potentially carrying a rifle in the vicinity of Oregon City High School. However, “after an extensive area search and investigation, no individual was located and they did not enter school grounds.”
Classes will continue for the rest of the day, though officers will be on campus to provide extra security.
