Al Jazeera recently reported that the US Secretary of State officially visited Saudi Arabia on Monday, April 29th.
During this meeting at the headquarters of the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretariat in Riyadh, avenues for strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields were explored, along with discussions and exchanges regarding the developments in the Gaza Strip and the city of Rafah.
According to Al Jazeera, the US Secretary of State is expected to discuss post-war reconstruction plans for the Gaza Strip with several counterparts from Gulf and European countries during his visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and his subsequent trip to Jordan.
It’s worth mentioning that during this trip, Mr. Blinken will also discuss increasing humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel has resulted in a dire humanitarian crisis.
More than 33,000 Palestinians have been killed, and over 70,000, mostly women and children, have been injured.
Additionally, the conflict has led to the displacement of over one million people from their homes.
