В ЕП заявили о планах провести встречу властей и оппозиции Грузии
Representatives of the European Parliament (EP) intend to organize a joint meeting of representatives of the Georgian government and the opposition. This was reported to Izvestia by EP deputy Tomasz Zdechowski.
"At the moment this issue (visit of the delegation to Georgia - Ed.) is being discussed. The purpose of the visit is an open dialog between the authorities and the opposition. We want to get information from both sides," he said.
The visit may take place in late December or early January, the MP added.
A delegation of the European Parliament visited Georgia on December 12. They held meetings with the Georgian opposition and the country's incumbent President Salome Zurabishvili. Her term of office expires on December 29. Mikhail Kavelashvili should become the new head of state.
