Don't expect a fantastic uptick in visual quality
World of Warcraft Classic has been getting waves of content updates since launching this past year, tying in with Wow gold classic the material releases for the first game. This doesn't revamp the game's whole lighting model, so that you won't get as transformative a result as in, say, Minecraft's RTX implementation.
If you have been having difficulty getting Shadowlands' ray-tracing to kick on, Blizzard's got some help on the official forums. You'll need a GPU that supports ray tracing tier 1.1, with the latest drivers, as well as the May 2020 update for Windows 10 -- also, of course, you'll need to be using DirectX 12.
As announced earlier this week, the GeForce 452.06 driver offers added support for your WoW Shadowlands beta. You can head into the Blizzard website to opt-in to get a chance at beta access, too.
The people at Wowhead have captured a load of contrast shots to reveal what people ray-traced shadows seem like. It is a shame WoW ray tracing will not go beyond shadows for now, because the stylised design and simple character models would look incredible under the spotlight of exceptionally realistic light.
Blizzard first detailed Shadowlands in Blizzcon 2019. The expansion features five new zones for players to explore, a revamped leveling system which compresses the older you to 60 levels and new personalization options, including the choice to change the sex of your character without paying a fee.
