Hearing on case of Sasna Tsrer was interrupted four times already
ArmInfo. The presiding judge of the Sasna Tsrer case, Judge Artush Gabrielyan, applied sanctions against his lawyer Gagik Yeghiazarian - Tigran Yegorian.
It is noteworthy that before this Gabrielyan applied sanctions to
Yeghiazaryan for disrespectful attitude to the court, and declared a
break. During the break, Yegoryan's lawyer left a note to the judge
with a notification of the illegality of his actions, and left the
courtroom. Returning from the advisory room, the judge applied
sanctions to the missing Yegoryan, explaining that the lawyer's
attitude was also disrespectful.
Sanctions were also applied to the defendant Varuzhan Avetisyan for
appeals for armed disobedience. After this incident, the next break
was announced, the fourth already on the account. The meeting was to
start again at 17:00 local time.
It should be noted that the second sitting on the Sasna Tsrer case,
which was scheduled for June 21, began in the court of general
jurisdiction of the Yerevan districts of Avan and Nor Nork with an
hour's delay because the lawyers of the defendants did not allow
themselves to be searched and were not allowed to enter the court
building. After the defendants were taken to the courtroom with an
hour's delay, Judge Artush Gabrielyan, who presided over the court,
left the courtroom. Later, attorney Armine Fanyan, who participated
in the meeting, reported that the court had announced a one-hour
break.
To note, the case is considered by the court of the administrative
districts of Erebuni and Nubarashen, but transferred to the building
of the Avan and Nor Nork courts, as it is larger in size. Note that
the first meeting on the case was postponed and did not begin, as the
defendants and their relatives interfered with the court.
To recall, on July 17, 2016 the group "Sasna Tsrer" seized the
building of the Regiment of the PPS of the Armenian Police in the
capital district of Erebuni. The group demanded the resignation of
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and the participant of the Karabakh
war Zhirayr Sefelyan, who was arrested in the spring of the same year
for illegal possession of weapons. The group surrendered and was
arrested on July 31.
