"French Cancer Center" opened in Yerevan
ArmInfo."French Cancer Center" opened in Yerevan.
As the Armenian Deputy Minister of Healthcare Sergey Khachatryan
stated in the interview, the growth of cancer is observed in Armenia,
as well as all over the world, that is why the opening of the "French
Cancer Center" in the republic is very important in terms of
increasing the level of fighting with oncological diseases.
Khachatryan noted that recently there has been a large increase in
cancer patients who go abroad for treatment, mainly to France. "And
after the opening of the center, patients can receive qualified
assistance without leaving the republic," he said.
In turn, one of the leaders of the Center, the French oncologist of
Armenian origin Norbert Avetyan noted that about 100 patients can be
treated in the new hospital every year. According to him, more than
one million euros were invested in the construction of this center.
"Our main goal is to provide patients in Armenia with the same
medical care that we provide to our patients in France, using the
latest approaches to ease the condition of patients after the
procedures that are applied in France," Avetyan said, adding that it
was proved that the patient is better recovered at home in the
environment of relatives.
He also said that all the equipment of the Center is mobile, and this
allows doctors to visit patients in all areas of Armenia. Avetyan
also noted that French doctors will stay in Armenia for at least 1
week a month and advise Armenian patients.
