May 27 Patrick Malandain finally won his bet by crossing his 10,000th kilometer in 99:4:12 minutes. It improves by 28 days and 6 hours the previous record known at this distance set last year by Australian Dave Alley.

On June 1, 2016, I had the incredible honor of being one of eight young Canadians to attend a private meeting at Parliament Hill with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and COO of Instagram Marne Levine. It is such a rare opportunity for a young person to share her honest opinions about a country with its leader, and I am truly honoured to have been invited to this discussion.

Some weeks ago, it started with an interesting study... the model posing at Heatherley was having a great presence - somehow, I was having some 16th century idea in my composition (surely some reminiscence of the Giorgione exhibition seen recently). I then started to work on an oil painting, and led two sessions to prepare for today's class. Part of the collection at the Cold War Air Museum, this photo highlights the distinctive V-tail of the Magister, a French jet trainer from the early 1950’s.  Over 900 were built and served in air forces around the world, also performing with at least four national aerobatic display teams.  Besides pilot training, several nations used them for light attack duties.  Israel employed their Magisters as ground attack roles during the Six Day War of 1967.
