Morgan Wallen Named Among Favorites for 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show
Rap vs. country music has been a recurring theme in the lead-up to this year's Super Bowlhalftime show, after Bad Bunny's selection for the show initially proved controversial, although the Spanish language-spectacular has since been critically acclaimed.
Last year, a Change.org petition calling for Bad Bunny to be replaced by George Strait, amassed over 130,000 signatures. Then, Kid Rock, along with a team of other country-esque singers, formed an alternate halftime show that went out at the same time as the Benito Bowl.
Artists like Jelly Rollpitched a future country line-up hosted by the NFL, throwing big names like Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, and Dolly Parton. Super Bowl weekend's other big musical event, the EA Sports Madden Bowl, had Luke Combs headlining — although he dropped out for personal reasons, being replaced by Zach Bryan. The demand for country at the Super Bowl is certainly high, but will the NFL follow up on it? According to gamblers, yes.
Morgan Wallen (Along With Some Other Big Names) Have Been Touted as Most Likely To Perform at the Super Bowl 2027
The Grammy winner has officially revealed his comeback with a new album announcement — as well as upcoming dates for his brand new 'Together, Together' tour.
According to the online gambling company FanDuel,Morgan Wallenis the odds-on favorite for the 2027 halftime show at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with odds of +1120, as of February 12. The country star definitely has a huge following, selling 26 million albums in the U.S. alone, and being named Billboard's Top Artist of 2025, as a result of such impressive numbers. He is the third most-certified artist across all genres, behind only Drake and Taylor Swift, in RIAA diamond-certified or higher singlrd, with five.
Other buzzy names for the big game include Harry Styles (+1040), Ariana Grande(+920), Drake (+880), and J Cole (+880). Obviously, these names aren't so country (although Harry does often collaborate with Shania Twain), but it does show that rap and country are the two dominant genres that people are currently interested in seeing at the halftime show — and pop too, to a lesser extent. Although that begs another question, would Drake show his face at the Super Bowl after that performance last year by Kendrick Lamar?
