At least 10 people have been killed and dozens wounded after a bomb blast ripped through a train carriage in the metro system of Saint Petersburg, Russia's second city, according to officials.

Several Russian media outlets have released the CCTV picture of the bearded suspect terrorist who was wearing a long, black top and a hat blamed for causing the carnage by detonating a bomb that was packed with shrapnel.

An explosion has hit an underground station in the city of St Petersburg, Russian media report.

At least 10 people are believed to have died after two explosions on the Saint Petersburg subway.

The Prosecuting Magistracy charged former executive director of Irrigation Systems EAD Dimitar Ivanov with inflicting BGN 2,986,355  detriment on the state-owned company resulting from the conclusion of four disadvantageous contracts for legal services between November 2013 and November 2014, and embezzling BGN 6,056  in the form of a mobile handset and two laptop computers. Ivanov was put on a recognizance not to leave, BNR said.

GERB leader Boyko Boirsov will head the talks for forming the new government, sources from the party said, quoted by BNR.

GERB members met at the party headquarters earlier today to discuss details from the election program that should now become the program of the government. Its key priorities will include the social sphere and public administration reform.

Former MP and member of New Republic Party, which failed to enter the Parliament Traicho Traikov, predicted a stable government, with good chance to end the mandate during an interview with BTV.

“There is a  chance for a government which will be stable. The question is that unexpected problems are always going to appear and depending on the form and internal cohesion of the future cabinet, they have to find the right way to solve them’’, said Traykov.

An explosion occurred at the board of a ship which arrived yesterday, April 4, at the shipyard in Varna, the press centre of Varna Municipality announced.

The euro zone jobless rate in February fell to its lowest level since May 2009 as a resurgent hiring spree took hold despite uncertainly over Brexit, EU data showed on Monday, AFP reports.

The specialized Anti-corruption department at the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office has brought charges against Minister of Health Ilko Semerdzhiev over having threatened to dismiss a director of the executive agency at the Ministry of Health unless he appoints as his deputy a person named by the minister, announced BNR.

The civil defense sirens of Bulgaria are to be tested in 11 Bulgarian cities on Monday.

At 13:00 local time, an alert message will sound all across the towns and cities of Burgas, Varna, Vratsa, Kardzhali, Montana, Pazardzhik, Pleven, Plovdiv, Ruse, Smolyan, and Sofia.

Every year the test also comprises the 30-km zone around the Kozloduy Nuclear Plant.

Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has climbed to 12th position in the world rankings after the end of the Miami Masters. Dimitrov progresses one place in the ATP rankings with a total of 2880 points, BNR said.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic is projected to have won a clear victory in the country's presidential election. With most votes counted in Sunday's poll, he appears to have won about 55%, the threshold to avoid a run-off.

His closest challenger, Sasa Jankovic, has 15%, while satirical candidate Ljubisa Preletacevic is third with 9%.

Bulgarian Agrarian National Union (BANU) Chairman and former defence minister Nikolay Nenchev and the entire party leadership tendered their resignations on Sunday but the BANU Governing Council turned them down, BNR said.

 The party adopted a declaration calling on the democratic community to unite and slamming what they see as a "retaliatory policy" of the caretaker government.

In the week until March 31, the food wholesale market index fell by 0.82% to 1.458%, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets reported, according to BNR.

Over the week in review, the average wholesale price of imported greenhouse-grown tomatoes increased by 3.3%  to BGN 1.90 per kilogramme.
