He is unstoppable: 4th Man Utd star backs 44yo for permanent Man Utd role
Manchester United co-owners INEOS have a big decision to make in the next few days.
Ruben Amorim was sacked from the managerial role after the turn of the year, with INEOS handing the reins to Michael Carrick on an interim basis.
Carrick has guided the Red Devils to 10 victories in 14 games, helping the club to achieve qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
It is widely reported that the former United midfielder could be made the permanent head coach after an impressive stint.
Amad Diallo has now added his voice to the growing chorus backing Carrick ahead of the final call from Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
He said (via Sky Sports): “It’s not the player who decides who is going to stay here next season, but what I can say, everyone is happy to have him as manager. Everyone is with him.
“He’s that manager who has a good relationship with every player, so we are really happy to have him as manager, and we will be happy if we have him next season as manager.”
Fourth Man Utd star to back Carrick
Matheus Cunha, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro have already publicly thrown their support behind Carrick.
Mainoo even admitted he would “die for him on the pitch”, showing the deep trust Carrick has built within the squad.
Cunha hailed him as a coach who possesses the “magic” reminiscent of the Alex Ferguson era.
Casemiro also praised the “incredible” job the 44-year-old has done, insisting he fully deserves the permanent role.
Under Carrick, the Red Devils have claimed statement victories over Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Chelsea.
The former midfielder has revitalised the team with simple yet effective tactical tweaks that have delivered outstanding results.
The unity within the dressing room further highlights just how popular Carrick has become among the players.
Given his impact, it is difficult to see INEOS turning elsewhere unless a truly elite, proven manager such as Luis Enrique or Carlo Ancelotti becomes available.
