Two women were killed in a fire Sunday at a Long Island senior housing complex. Nassau County police said firefighters found Theresa Casale, 84, dead in an apartment and Lynne Citron, 74, died at a hospital after sustaining severe burns in the fire in a 10-unit building at the Jesse Harmon Shepherd Hill complex in Plainview. Tunisian opposition leader Rached Ghannouchi has begun a hunger strike in prison, joining other government critics striking to protest what they see as unjust incarceration. The spokesperson for his political party Ennahda, said Monday the strike was to protest what opposition members see as a violation of their freedoms and demand a return to democracy. A Florida sheriff’s deputy says he was just doing his job when he quickly came to the aid of a mom and two children in a car crash and performed chest compressions until the infant resumed breathing. Charlotte County Deputy Sgt. Dave Musgrove’s heroics on Feb. 8 were captured on body camera footage. Mexican authorities have detained a Guatemalan man wanted by the United States for allegedly participating in the importation of the precursor chemicals used by the Sinaloa cartel to make fentanyl. Five Argentines and one Mexican are dead following an accident on a highway that links beach resorts on Mexico’s Caribbean coast. Mexico's president said Monday the crash was “ugly, very ugly.” Prosecutors in the coastal state of Quintana Roo said the accident occurred Sunday on the highway between the resorts of Tulum and Puerto Aventuras, south of Cancun.
