Sean Manaea solid, offense explodes again in Athletics win over Rangers

OAKLAND — The A’s beat the Rangers, 12-3, on Saturday night. They remain two games ahead of Tampa Bay for the first wild card spot.
Rangers starter Brock Burke lasted two outs into the first inning, trampled by a six-hit, two-walk, five-run start.
Marcus Semien hit his 32nd home run of the year, and Mark Canha followed with his 26th to extend the A’s lead to 11-0 by the sixth inning. Semien reached base in all six of his plate appearances: three hits and three walks.
Sean Manaea dealt 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on sixth inning home runs from Danny Santana and Elvis Andrus. He struck out four and walked one, throwing 89 pitches.
Jesús Luzardo gave up a walk, but utilized readily an impressive slider that struck out two Rangers in the seventh inning.
