After having taken oath at parliament and on an official ceremony at the Council of Ministers caretaker PM Ognyan Gerdzikov handed over the position to the newly-elected Prеmier Boyko Borisov, wishing luck to him and his team, BNR reported.

Borisov thanked for the efforts put by the caretaker cabinet and pointed out that it had ‘’done quite a lot’’.

The Bulgarian National Assembly has elected GERB leader Boyko Borisov for Prime Minister of Bulgaria and accepted the structure and composition of the new coalition cabinet proposed by him, BNR reported.

Out of the 233 MPs who took part in the voting, 134 MPs from GERB, United Patriots Coalition, Volya and an independent MP voted in favour of the new cabinet.

The BSP and the DPS parties were against.

During parliamentary discussions over the new government, BSP leader Kornelia Ninova said that the Socialist would vote against the new cabinet because of serious disagreements in the sphere of economy, the fight against poverty, the fight against crime, and because intentions were different than previously announced plans, as wells as because the coalition agreement created insecurity in the country, quoted by BNR.

The Duke of Edinburgh is giving up his public duties from the autumn, Buckingham Palace has announce, Sky News reported.

The palace said Prince Philip, who turns 96 next month, had taken the decision with the "full support" of the Queen.

After President Rumen Radev issued a decree proposing to the National Assembly to elect Boyko Borisov as Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, the legislative body started discussing the structure and composition of the Borisov government, BNR announced.

Sofia Municipality collected BGN 262.4M revenues in the first four months of 2017, BGN 1.966M more than the same period last year, according to preliminary figures on the 2017 budget implementation released by City Hall in a press release on Wednesday.

GERB candidate of new prime minister Boyko Borisov reported to President Rumen Radev over a successful mandate for composing the new government of Bulgaria, BNR reported.

French centrist Emmanuel Macron said far-right leader Marine Le Pen risked starting a civil war with her policies during a presidential debate between the two rivals ahead of this weekend's runoff, reported AFP.

"I will be uncompromising and I will lead the fight (against terrorism) at every level, but the trap waiting for us, is what you are proposing, it's a civil war," Macron said.
