Newly elected French President Emmanuel Macron has named little-known parliamentarian Edouard Philippe from the rightwing Republicans party as his first prime minister, his office announced Monday.

The choice of Philippe, a 46-year-old from the northern port city of Le Havre, will be seen as an attempt by Macron to attract other moderates to his new centrist Republique En Marche party (Republic on the Move, REM).

The municipal council of Plovdiv has approved with a full majority a proposal linked to the planned Plovdiv airport concession, FOCUS Radio Plovdiv reports.

Bulgarian Vice President Iliyana Yotova presented a wreath in front of the Vasil Levski monument in Dimitrovgrad, Servia, a reporter of FOCUS News Agency reported.

The vice president will meet with Dimitrovgrad’s Mayor Vladica Dimitrov, Deputy Mayor Zoran Dzhurov, and other representatives of the municipal management.

Berlin on Monday slammed Ankara's "unacceptable" refusal to allow German lawmakers to visit their country's troops on a NATO base near the Syrian border, warning it could move them elsewhere, AFP reported.

The consumer price index for April 2017 compared to March 2017 is 100.7%, i.e. the monthly inflation is 0.7%. Inflation since the start of the year (April 2017 compared to December 2016) is 1.5%, while the annual inflation for April 2017 compared to April 2016 is 2.6%, the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute (NSI) announced.

The average annual inflation for the period May 2016 – April 2017, compared to the period May 2015 – April 2016, is 0.2%.

Japan's defence ministry sent planes and helicopters to search for a military aircraft with four crew members aboard that went missing earlier Monday, AFP reported.

The LR-2 reconnaissance plane disappeared from radar near Hakodate airport on the northern island of Hokkaido while flying to pick up a patient in Hakodate at the request of Hokkaido's governor, a ministry spokesman said.

"We have sent four helicopters and two airplanes to search for the missing plane," the spokesman said. Читать дальше...

The Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov signed orders for the appointment of three deputy ministers which are going to fill the staff in the Ministries of Health, Regional Development, and Energy, reported BGNES.

The proposals for hiring came from the ministers. Svetlana Yordanova will be the third deputy Minister of Health. From 2015 she is a secretary of the National Council of narcotic substances in the Ministry.

The government hired Mitko Simeonov for the Director of the Bulgarian Privatization Agency and Post-Privatisation Control (PAPC), reported BGNES.

Simeonov who was the deputy director of the Agency is now the new director, after Emil Karanikolov became Minister of Economy.

As a new deputy director is appointed Petar Petrov who was a member of PAPC from 2010 to 2013.  

Two transport buses in Plovdiv were seriously damaged by a vandal this morning, reported bTV.

Just before 8 a.m., in a time distance of 15 minutes, on the last bus stop in "Trakya" region at the two vehicles has been shot with stones.

In result, the windows of the buses are broken.

There are no injured people but by unconfirmed information, damages started when people were inside.

The services working against crimes in Internet in MIA (the Ministry of Internal Affairs) are already notified.

At the moment MIA does not claim which is the affected by hackers Bulgarian institution.

One man died in a crash with a van on 228 Kilometer from "Trakya" highway, reported inews.bg.

Two people traveled with a van in a direction to Burgas, Bulgaria but it crashed.

The driver does not have serious injuries. The signal for the crashed van came in 06:07 a.m. today.

The Bulgarian Tennis Player Grigor Dimitrov gets closer to returning in the Top 10 of the world rankings, reported Dnevnik.

The ex head of the Sofia Military Medical Academy (MMA), the general Stoyan Tonev died probably from a massive coronary, reported BGNES on Sunday.

Tonev was found in his house in Velingrad in the afternoon hours on Sunday.

He was born on December 3rd 1953 in Kardzali, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Military Medical institute in Plovdiv, and later worked in the Military hospital in the city.

In 2016, the general was charged as a suspect for damages in MMA for 16 million Leva.

The City of Sofia Court (CSC) is going to consideР an application for changing the measure of Yoan Matev, reported BGNES.

Matev is convinced of killing the 15-year-old Georgy in Borisova gradina, Sofia.

In the court is appointed a legal hearing of application for detention, came from a layer of Yoan Matev.

In the application is pointed that Matev does not want to attend the legal hearing, and this is why he will not be called on. The measure has been assigned to the judge Petar Stoizev. 

Scientists from Norway, Russia, Czech Republic and other European countries are taking part in an international conference concerning 75 years of the establishment of the Institute for Bulgarian language with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, reported BNR.
