''Georgi Kostov, former Chief Secretary of the Interior Ministry, will be appointed Director General of the National Customs Agency'', Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov said, quoted by FOCUS News Agency.

Kostov’s operating experience in the fight against crime and his know-how as Chief Secretary will help improve the fight against all forms of abuse linked to budget revenue, Goranov said.

Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov said the government will restart the concession procedure for Sofia Airport, FOCUS News Agency reported.

''The strategy for the airport concession remains unchanged, there is no reason for changes'', he said.

Additionally, the government expects the resubmission of a bill for concessions which has been rejected by President Rumen Radev.

Switzerland’s government says it will temporarily limit the number of workers from European Union member states Bulgaria and Romania who can access Swiss jobs, after an influx from the countries in recent months, according to The Washington Post, quoted by Focus  News Agency.

Kosovo's government loses confidence vote today, setting up the possibility of an early election, Gazeta Express reports.

With 78 votes the Assembly adopted no confidence motion against Isa Mustafa’s Government. The no-confidence motion initiated by opposition party succeeded to the Assembly thus paving the way towards early elections, which according to legal deadlines should be held within 45 days.

The Ministry of Education provides 60 748 Bulgarian students to be accepted for the eighth class in the school year 2017/2018, according to Dnevnik.

The students will be educated in 2333 sections from which 1185 - specialized, and 1139 - professional.

This year all seventh graders have to candidate for a diploma because the primary education is already finished after the seventh grade.
 

A letter of PM Boyko Borisov sent to President of the EC Jean-Claude Juncker informs on the cabinet’s decision to nominate MEP Maria Gabriel for Bulgaria’s next EU commissioner, stating his certainty that she will have her valuable contribution to the Commission’s work, quoted by BNR.

The Bulgarian Parliament's Temporary Committee want the immunity of the Deputy Speaker of Parliament and leader of "Volya" Party Veselin Mareshki, reported Dnevnik.

The information was announced by the President of the Commission Hristian Mitev after the first and last sitting.

Kristian Kostov will represent Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 tommorow night (May 11), reported BNT.

"It is expected that the budgets for hospitals to be corrected in June", said the Deputy Director of the National Health Insurance Agency (NHIA) Dimitar Petrov in front of journalists, reported bTV.

Petrov explained that from April 1st the hospitals are working with a quarter budgets and could be spent with plus 3% above the anticipated.

The opportunity is for every month in the quarter.

The Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski hired again Vladimir Vladimirov as a Director of "BDZ" EAD (Bulgaria 's State Railway Company), reported BGNES.

From November 2014 to February 2017 Vladimirov took the Director's post of "BDZ" EAD.

The reason for the removal from duty is that he is not able to fulfill his work obligations, explained from the White House.

Bulgaria’s exports to third countries grew by 20.1% year-on-year to BGN 4.24 billion  in the first quarter of 2017, the National Statistics Institute said.
A total 52.9% of the exports went to Turkey, China, Egypt, Serbia, Macedonia and the Russian Federation. Total exports, including EU countries, rose by 14.8% to BGN 12.16 billion in the same period.

The European Literature Night initiative which aims to make access to the cultures of different communities easier has been growing more and more popular in Bulgaria.

Turkey on Wednesday slammed as "unacceptable" a US announcement that Washington would supply arms and military equipment to Kurdish fighters battling Islamic State (IS) jihadists in Syria, AFP reported.

"The supply of arms to the YPG is unacceptable," Deputy Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli told A Haber television. "Such a policy will benefit nobody," he said.

After the end of the first sitting of the new government of Bulgaria, Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva announced that the Bulgarian nomination for European commissioner is Maria Gabriel, BNR reported.

According to Ministry of Justice data, the number of indictments filed by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Bulgaria in the first three months of 2017 have trebled compared to the same period of last year, BNR reported.
