City officials say crews working on the Rideau Street sinkhole have completed the first phase of concrete work to stabilize the site, while crews continue working to restore services. The massive sinkhole opened up across Rideau Street on Thursday, swallowing a van that was parked nearby, forcing a shutdown of businesses in the area and causing commuter chaos that is expected to continue.
