The first location in continental North America to experience totality: Mexico’s Pacific coast, at around 2 p.m. EDT Monday. The weather isn’t looking good for a large part of the eclipse’s path. Haiti’s National Police says it has recovered a hijacked cargo ship laden with rice following a gunbattle with gangs that lasted more than five hours. Discount carrier Spirit Airlines said it is deferring all aircraft on order from Airbus that were scheduled to be delivered in the second quarter of 2025 through the end of 2026.
