Floodwaters have inundated parts of India and Bangladesh, causing at least 15 deaths. Authorities said Thursday at least 11 people have died in India's state of Tripura and media reports say at least four have died in Bangladesh. Incessant rains caused rivers to flow over their banks and flood protection embankments. A French destroyer rescued 29 mariners from an oil tanker that came under repeated attack in the Red Sea, while also destroying a bomb-carrying drone boat in the area. Yemen’s Houthi rebels are suspected to have carried out the assault on the Sounion, though they have yet to claim responsibility for the attack. Serbian police were searching for migrants who fell into the Drina river after a boat overturned while carrying them across the border to Bosnia. Police received a call around 5 a.m. on Thursday from their counterparts in Bosnia and a citizen who reported the accident. An explosion triggered a fire in a pharmaceutical plant in southern India, killing at least 15 workers. A police officer says 40 more people were injured in the fire Wednesday and were hospitalized. It occurred at the Escientia Company, which makes intermediate chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients. Mexican prosecutors have finally won convictions against 11 drug cartel gunmen for the massacre of 122 people who were pulled off passing buses and forced to fight each other to the death with sledgehammers.
