Phones are interesting again. Manufacturers, predominantly Chinese in origin, are designing quirky devices that target select, often narrow, demographics. A great example of this is the Unihertz Titan, which is currently in the process of being crowdfunded on Kickstarter. This handset caters to the (presumably small) niche of people who desire a rugged phone with a physical keyboard and a widescreen display. It’s strongly reminiscent of the divisive BlackBerry Passport, albeit running Android 9.0, and with the inherent hardiness of a CAT phone.

Sony today revealed it was adding new Dualshock 4 colors to an already-long list, including a color I’m pretty sure they’re trying to pass off as Rose Gold. Sony revealed the new batch of colors in the PlayStation blog today. Reminders are one of the most useful features of AI assistants. Pick up some groceries, take out the trash, set up a dentist appointment. Apple‘s iPhone names have been a little weird lately. First, the company skipped the iPhone 9 altogether, simultaneously releasing the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. Then there was the iPhone XS, which tempted people to call it the iPhone ‘excess.’ And no one knows what the ‘r’ in iPhone Xr stands for. If recent rumors are to be believed, this year Apple is going for a new, simpler naming scheme altogether. After apparently resolving its troubled relationship with YouTubers, Nintendo‘s now coming down on those who upload music from its games. At least two popular channels have been hit, and if this starts a trend, there aren’t a lot of alternatives for listening to this music. The channels GilvaSunner and BrawlBRSTMs3 have both reported Nintendo issuing copyright claims on videos with their music. BrawlBRSTMs3 was terminated last night, though the owner says on Twitter they’d planned to shut it down anyway... Scientists may have found a potential cure for anxiety after isolating and boosting a molecule in the brains of rhesus monkeys. Andrew Fox, a researcher at UC Davis, and co-author Tade Souaiaia from SUNY lead a team of researchers in an experimental study to determine if behaviors related to anxiety and depression could be mitigated by manipulating the amygdala, the part of the brain that controls memory and emotions linked to memory.
