Israel, Senegal Mend Diplomatic Ties

Israel and Senegal have mended diplomatic ties that ruptured after the West African country co-sponsored a U.N. Security Council resolution in December condemning Jewish settlement construction. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Senegalese President Macky Sall in Liberia on the sidelines of the Economic Community of West African States summit. Cambodian Opposition Makes Gains in Local Elections

Cambodia's main opposition party made significant gains in local elections Sunday which could threaten Prime Minister Hun Sen's grip on power. Announcing preliminary results, opposition party spokesman Yim Sovann said his party won about 46% of the communes - up from 30 percent in the last local elections five years ago. "This is a huge victory for the Cambodia National Rescue Party," Sovann told a news conference. Swift Police Response, Individual Heroism in London Bridge Attack 

Stories of heroism are being shared in the wake of eight minutes of terror that struck the Borough Market district of London late Saturday. Seven people died in a stabbing rampage carried out by three men, who also drove a van at Saturday night revelers. Several of the nearly 50 people wounded in the attack remain in a critical condition, police officials say.
